POWER OF WRITING DOWN YOUR GOALS
How writing down my goals and visualizing them helped me in achieving them
Inspired by the book Atomic Habits, I tried to write down my goals that I wanted to achieve, badly. I gave a timeline to that goal for one year. After writing down the goals in my journal, I started working for them. Once in a while, I used to visualize myself achieving those goals. The results surprised me as I was able to achieved one of those goals in under 3 months. How? Let's know.
I have been a sports lover since childhood. I love playing every sport. And honestly speaking, I am pretty good in most of them. I have played cricket, football, badminton, basketball, volleyball, Table tennis and few more. But I never represent my district, state or nation. I was just an average player in a few games without achieving anything big.
Fast forward today, at the age of 22, studying in a university, I regret that I don't have any achievement to prove how good I am. I didn't had the tag of National Player or state player or even university player. That thing used to put me in regret a lot. In the first year of my masters, I tried hard to get into the university cricket team but I failed. No external reasons or excuses, I just wasn't deserving.
In February '23, I wrote on my journal "I will be a university player. First priority is Cricket then any other game." I thought I'll not restrict myself to one particular game where the fight to get into the team is hard. I made myself a promise, no matter the game, I will have the tag of University player by the end of 2nd year. Though cricket was my first priority and I used to practice daily, I kept an eye on the opportunities where I can represent my University in any other game.

Late in April '23, I got to know University is going to send players for Drop Roball All India University tournament. I thought this is my chance. Though Drop Roball is not a famous game with less fight for place in the team, but still you have to prove your metal to get into the university team. For you information, I never heard of that game before that. I got my chance. We had only 3-4 days to practice before final trails. I got to know rules and regulations in those days. I watched videos of the game on YouTube to learn more about it.
On the day of trials, I went on to make my place into the university team and I was selected for the main category. My game was appreciated by the seniors as well. In just 3-4 days I had the game sense required to play the situations of the game. That day was extremely satisfying for me as I made into the team just with my hard work. I was extremely proud of myself that day. Finally, I had the tag of All India University player.
After coming back from the tournament, I opened my journal and went through the page where I wrote my goals. And I have already achieved one of them. That feeling of achievement was something else. Now I will be working hard to get other goals I have written on that page. One of those goals is to EARN an Indian Blazer that means I will represent my country at any stage and field to earn that blazer of India. Other is I will get selected for my University Cricket Team in the 2nd year.
That was my experience of visualizing your goals with all your heart and energies will fall into the place to make you achieve those goals. Manifest hard and achieve everything you want.
