A Terrifying yet Satisfying experience of
Cold-Water Bathing
The weirdest experience of my life till date.
I’m always trying to explore new things, new experiences and a lot more things which I’m unaware of. Sometimes I love these new things which I do but sometimes I’m messed up with this. But this time I tried something which I never thought I would ever try. Cold Water Baths in Winter at the temperature on which we don’t even want to feel water.

It was 29th of December when I went mad and decided to start cold water bathing for the next 30 days. The place where I reside is the city of extreme temperatures. It was 9 degree celsius on my first day. A perfect goosebumps moment. I was numb what to do. But the pledge was taken. There was no going back. So, I made myself strong and straightaway pulled one mug of cold water which went through my head to the bottom. I didn’t make a single noise but it was really tough to take that. The first mug was shaking but from that the fear was gone half a bit. So, I continued and felt refreshing. From then on, I realized the benefits of this. I will express my experiences to you all.
Reason why I started this:
● I am mad (for everyone), anyway I don’t care.
● I read some articles about cold water bathing and got excited but at the same time felt fear flowing throughout my veins.
● I wanted to remove this fear from my mind.
● To lead myself towards an energetic life and also wanted to increase my will power (I know no one has ever told you that cold bathing increases will power).
What I experienced:
Words will fall short if I start typing about this amazing experience but anyway, I will tell you the major changes that happened during and after this.
- I felt all the negativity aka problems I had in my mind, came to a pause while bathing. Like someone in my head saying: “It’s a new day. Conquer it.” Well, that was my own voice chirping inside my head. So, what, who will say all this? Of course, I am the only one inside my bathroom. Coming on to the experience,
- I felt serious positive vibes that were enough to push me towards
living a joyous day. - Alarm clocks are myth. For me, this is the real alarm bell to wake you up. Although we don’t bath on bed. Never Mind.
- It helped me become more energetic and fresh throughout the day. However, I used body deodorants too.
- I stopped being lazy. It increased my will power that was the most important thing which I badly needed at any cost. I know this is a gradual process and it was a big step towards it.
There are a lot of scientific benefits of this as well (e.g., calming itchy skin, increasing circulation, glowing hair and skin and many more). I hope you can google that. I just shared what I felt from inside.
What difficulties I faced:
- The first day was the second toughest thing for me. Believe me, it was still backbreaking to take that cold spray on your body.
- My grandfather passed away amidst this so I got bald. This was the toughest thing I faced. It felt like my head was inside freezer when the water was going through my head. It was that choking.
- I got cold and fever in the second week. But the hunt was on though everyone forced me to step back.
- Once, I had to bath at night. Doing that was horrific.
- Being consistent was a real challenge. Luckily, I passed that test.
My suggestion to all:
I will suggest you to try cold shower at least once in winters. It will not do wonders but I smell positivity in this process. You’ll feel the energies too. Your working ability will improve you’ll feel the increasing will power. You’ll feel motivated once this fear is gone.
Though take care of your health along with that. It is not necessary to do that.
Drink warm water to remain well. Wearing cap and socks can help. There are some cons of this as well, beware of that.

And lastly if you are having bath less days, ignore this article and please
just start bathing, at least, doesn’t matter it is hot, cold or frozen water. Just don’t skip bathing.
